In 1969, Jimi Hendrix electrified Woodstock with his rendition of the national anthem. He was playing a white Fender Stratocaster. In 1964, Keith Richards rocked out on his Les Paul at the Rolling Stones’ very first appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show. And in 1992, Eric Clapton strummed an acoustic Martin as he recorded his smash hit, “Tears in Heaven.”
These guitars are as iconic as the stars who played them. I’m such a superfan, I couldn’t help but capture their cool, classic lines in quilt form. Click HERE to learn how to make my Unstrung Hero quilt. (Great news: This project is available as a kit HERE.)

I finally remembered to check out your blog even though I already watched the tutorial on this guitar quilt. I really like this wall hanging and will probably have to buy the pattern so I know I have it when ready to make this. I’ll bet it would bring in some money if I donated it to the local animal rescue for next year’s big auction. Thanks for the youtube tute on this design. That will help me understand better how it all goes together. Keep the creative juices flowing!
Love this and want to make it for my blues guitar playing son. It’s been out of stock at Missouri Star for a few weeks – any idea as to when the kit will be available again?
