This week’s tutorial is a special one. You may know that April is Autism Awareness Month and these days, most of us have someone near and dear to us who has been diagnosed with autism. That’s why I’m so excited to share today’s tutorial with you… a really easy way to make a weighted quilt, using a simple fill and quilt as you go method!

Thanks Rob! On the way home last night I got a 10 pound box of pellets and have started on one of these for a friend. Very timely, and I’m happy to be able to help out in some small way.
I have an idea… I use little flushable water soluble bags for dog poo. I wonder if it would be easier to fill the little bags, toss a bag down each column and then sew across. That way there are no stray pellets to get everywhere and all you have to do is wash it and the bags will disappear. They are made of PVA, polyvinyl acrylate. It will just wash away. The bags are relatively inexpensive. I’m going to give it a try….
Did you try it? How did it work out?
What are the washing instructions for this blanket?
